How to Get Customers from Reddit Without Getting Banned

· 5 min read

I’ve spent the last three months building Replyt, a growth engine that turns Reddit conversations into customers.

The pitch of most tools in this space is the same:

Find relevant threads. Post AI replies. Track the traffic and revenue back to each thread.

Discover, reply, attribute. A clean loop.

The Replyt loop: Discover, Market Intelligence, Conversations, Revenue. Every visit and dollar tracked.

There’s just one problem with the way the category delivers it.

The loop doesn’t close.

The gap nobody in the category talks about

Reddit punishes links in public comments.

Drop your product URL in a reply and one of three things happens: the comment gets removed, the mods ban you from the subreddit, or Reddit flags your account as a spammer.

Now follow the logic:

No link in the comment means no trackable click. No trackable click means no attribution. No attribution means “post a reply and track revenue” is a promise public comments cannot keep.

Most tools sell that promise anyway. Dashboards full of “mentions engaged” and “estimated reach” that never connect to a single invoice.

I refused to build that. If a technical founder looks under the hood, and they always do, every number has to hold up.

So I built the loop that actually closes. All of it.

How Replyt closes the loop end to end

Finding conversations and drafting AI replies is the easy part. Any tool can do that, and most stop there.

Replyt goes further at every step. This is the full system:

1. Discovery that finds buyers, not keywords

Replyt doesn’t just match keywords. It scores every thread by buying intent: is this person naming the exact problem you solve, asking for a recommendation, signaling budget?

It also surfaces the threads that rank on Google, because a helpful reply in a Google-ranked thread keeps sending you traffic for months. That’s SEO positioning built from conversations, and it compounds.

2. Replies in your voice, in your market’s words

Replyt learns how your market actually talks and drafts replies that help first. You approve every single one before it posts, from your own account. Never a bot, never “Great question!” AI slop that gets downvoted.

Here’s where the loop closes, and where most tools have nothing.

Reddit doesn’t allow links in public comments. But it does allow them in DMs.

Replyt's two engines: public replies that build trust in the thread, and 1:1 DMs with a two-step consent gate, daily caps and human pacing

For the highest-intent people, Replyt opens a short, helpful DM. Value first, no link. When they reply, you share your link. That link is tracked, and the visit is identified by the Replyt pixel installed on your site.

From that moment you have a real prospect pipeline: Sent, In conversation, Visited, Converted. Each stage detected automatically, down to matching the signup and the Stripe payment.

That’s not “estimated reach”. That’s a named person who asked for what you sell, talked to you, visited, and paid.

4. The pixel: every visit and dollar, attributed

One line of code on your site ties everything together. Visits from your DMs and your profile link, signups, and revenue live from Stripe, all attributed back to the conversation that started it.

Replyt results dashboard: visits attributed, MRR live from Stripe, Google positions, and replies posted vs visits over 90 days

Founders don’t want clicks. They want customers. So the dashboard reads the way a founder thinks: conversations, visits, MRR, Google positions. Not upvotes.

5. Market Insights: Reddit as market intelligence

This is the layer I’m most proud of, because it pays you even before you post a single reply.

Replyt analyzes the conversations in your market and turns them into weekly Market Insights: the pain points people repeat, the objections before they buy, the competitors they mention, and the exact words they use to describe the problem.

That’s positioning gold. You stop guessing what to build next or how to describe what you shipped. Your landing page starts speaking the language your buyers already use, because Replyt extracted it from real conversations.

No other tool in the category turns Reddit into a weekly briefing on what your market wants.

6. Safety built in, because the channel is worthless if you get banned

None of this matters if you behave like a bot and lose your account.

Speed kills accounts. Replyt's built-in safety: value-first openers, daily caps and cooldowns, warmup-aware pacing, revenue tracked

Replyt paces everything: daily caps, cooldowns between messages, warmup-aware pacing for newer accounts, and openers that lead with value instead of a pitch. You grow on Reddit without burning the account that makes it possible.

The counterintuitive part: the limits aren’t a restriction. They’re what keeps the channel alive. A growth channel you get banned from is not a growth channel.

The moat is the whole loop

Any single piece of this can be copied. Thread monitoring exists. AI replies exist.

But the moat isn’t a feature. It’s the complete loop working as one system:

  • High-intent discovery, scored and prioritized
  • Google-ranked threads that compound as SEO
  • Replies in your voice that you approve
  • DMs that carry a tracked link to real prospects
  • A pixel that attributes visits, signups and Stripe revenue
  • Weekly Market Insights that sharpen your product and your positioning
  • Safety rules that protect the account running all of it

Take out any piece and the loop opens. Intent without attribution is guessing. Attribution without safety gets you banned. Replies without market intelligence sound like everyone else.

Together, they turn Reddit from a side channel you check when you have time into an acquisition engine you can measure.

Final thought

Reddit is a real acquisition channel. People go there with their wallets half open, describing the exact problem you solve, in their own words, in threads that rank on Google.

Most tools let you watch that happen. A few let you reply to it.

Replyt closes the loop: it finds the buyers, helps you show up in your voice, reaches the hottest ones directly, proves the revenue, and hands you the market intelligence to position your business around exactly what people want.

That’s the difference between joining conversations and building a channel.
